This week (September 14/15) Law 365 and some of our awesome clients set sail on the Solent. The objective? To see people in person after too long, to have fun, to raise money for 3 important causes...and of course, to win!

What is the Silicon Cup Regatta?

Billed as the #1 networking event for IT professionals who like to get out on the water, the regatta has hosted top IT firms since 2000 -- with over 7,000 competitors and 450 yachts having taken part since the event began.

Our crew included Law 365 clients, Alex Graves from Silicon Reef, Rob Young from Infinity Group and Tim Wallis from Content+Cloud as well as Law 365's own sailors - Kim Simmonds, Lizzie Cook and Luis Otton (Law 365 - Our People).

The day started off looking a little grey and grim but (much like this year) soon started to look more promising with a light breeze and clear blue skies.

"We love working with Law 365 and I've been really looking forward to seeing them face to face after so many online meetings!" said Rob.

The crew threw themselves into the sailing and the evening activities with equal gusto, showing that they could all rock the boat as well as a stripey jumpsuit. (Photographic evidence below)

"It's great to see that Law 365 plays as hard as they work," said Alex, "I think we showed the other teams who the stronger crew was the minute we broke out the blow up guitars."

Day 2 of sailing saw more of a breeze but the wind had gone out of the sails of the crew who had given their all on Day 1...

"There's nothing quite like sailing to demonstrate real teamwork," said Kim. "It's been a fantastic 2-days, reconnecting with Alex and Rob and also raising money for three fabulous charities."

    Why we sail

Fundraising is at the heart of the Regatta, and the participants have raised just over £1 million over the years.

Giving back is part of the Law 365 ethos. Every member of the team gets involved – whether that’s walking to raise money for legal aid, or volunteering for local charities…
