Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is coaching?
Some people think of coaching as though the coach offers ‘magic solutions’ to all your business issues. There are some advisors who deliver this in a coaching style but that isn’t true coaching. Coaching enables you the person being coached to tap deep within your own wisdom and knowledge to find your answers. Those answers then come with truer purpose and more ownership and create a lifetime of good habits and thinking.
The other amazing benefit of coaching is that after some time, you learn how to coach others, namely the teams you manage or as a leader of an organisation, how to lead better. Gone are the days of a micro manager, and so it is important for a manager or leader to understand how to raise awareness of ownership of ideas, roles and responsibilities and to help people find their own purpose. -
Will coaching fix my problems fast?
As explained above, it’s not the essence of coaching to deliver solutions from your coach to you as to how to ‘fix the issue.’ In truth, no one really can do this but you. It takes time but every session will provide an ‘a-ha!’ moment- it’s truly addictive because what you discover about yourself is sometimes greater a reward than anything else. Life is a journey not a destination and that’s how coaching is approached.
